For Authors:

The California Western Law Review welcomes unsolicited manuscripts that offer thoughtful, timely, and meaningful contributions to legal scholarship and the legal profession. We appreciate authors’ interest in publishing with the Journal and strive to review all submissions as promptly as possible. Manuscripts are selected for publication following review and approval by the Lead Articles Board. At the time of submission, authors should disclose whether any portion of the manuscript has been published previously or is currently under consideration elsewhere.

For the 2026–2027 submission cycle, we are especially interested in scholarship that examines inequities or deficiencies in existing law and advocates for meaningful legal, institutional, or policy reform. We welcome submissions that challenge entrenched legal frameworks, address the law’s impact on individuals and communities, and propose reforms designed to advance justice, equality, and accountability. While these topics are of interest to our journal, we consider all submissions, and encourage authors to submit regardless of our topics of interest.

Submissions may also be sent by email to lawreview@cwsl.edu. Please include the manuscript and the author’s curriculum vitae with the submission.

Thank you for your interest in the California Western Law Review.
